CPAS Testing

The testing process involved with the Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System, Edition 2 is divided into four phases for each of the three testing cycles (fall, spring and summer). The phases are developed to assist test coordinators as they plan for the upcoming school year.

Phase 1 - Verification

Verify Your Programs

Programs are verified first. We need to make sure we have the correct programs listed with the correct test coordinators. Often students travel across district lines to test where programs are offered. We want to ensure we know where to look for all your students.

Verify Your Students

Once we have a list of programs, we will pull the secondary students from the MSIS database and load them into the assessment engine for you. The steps above will help ensure your students do not sit down to take a test and have an incorrect test or no test at all.

Phase 2 -Demo Period

Kick the Tires

This phase is for your administrators, proctors and students to experience the MS-CPAS2 testing process.
  • We would like for your students to use their actual IDs so that we can identify any students not in the system.
  • Please use the same proctor logins you will use during live testing.
  • Please use the same computer lab you will use during live testing.

Identify Problems

If you follow the bullets above, you should identify the following common problems:
  • Students are not loaded in the system.
  • Proctors are not able to log in.
  • Students are not associated with the proctor login.
  • Computers are not able to display the test properly.
  • Network cannot handle the amount of traffic.

The assessment staff will be able to help you with any problems identified above.

Phase 3 - Testing

Phase 4 - Reports

Check Student Scores

Immediately after testing, please use the Questionmark reporting service to ensure your students took the correct test and have a score. Log In to Questionmark Reports

Test Validity

The assessment staff will identify test questions that need to be examined. MDE program supervisors will decided if any adjustments need to be made to scores.

Final Reports

Your district personnel will be able to access final reports on this site once all adjustments are reconciled.
