MS Work Overview

The Mississippi Works Dual Enrollment-Credit Option was established by the MS legislature during the 2012 session. (See Section 37-15-38, Section 37-151-7.)

At the request of Dr. Lynn House, interim State Superintendent of Education, a Mississippi Works Task Force was established in August 2012 and charged with recommending guidelines for implementation of MS Works legislation.  Colleen Hartfield, vice president for Community Relations at Hinds Community College was asked to lead the task force, with the assistance of Jean Massey, MDE Associate State Superintendent, and the RCU at Mississippi State University. Below are documents developed or collected to help the community colleges and K-12 districts piloting the programs in the 2012-2013 school year. The Task Force will review and evaluate pilot projects and provide a formal report in late 2013.
