We also maintain an active social media presence, produce eye-catching posters and infographics, and design printed and electronic media for a number of education projects and groups across the state.
Our goal is to equip educators with tools and knowledge that help them improve student outcomes and spread the word about the great things going on in Mississippi's classrooms.
Visit the Connections website
The RCU is funded by the Mississippi Department of Education to produce a biannual publication that spotlights innovative K-12 CTE programs and practices across the state. Connections is written, designed, and printed at the RCU and disseminated to CTE centers and educators across the state. Each edition contains stories that highlight excellence and creativity in Mississippi's CTE programs.
Visit the School Focus website
School Focus is the biannual magazine for K-12 education in Mississippi, published in August and February of each year. It features K-12 students, educators, schools, and organizations from districts across the state, as well as curriculum and standards updates.
Download the CTE Promotional Toolkit
The RCU produces communications toolkits, including posters, social media tools, and flyers, that may be used by educators to promote greater understanding of the promise and achievements of Mississippi’s CTE programs. All products are free, and many can be customized to fit the individual needs of a specific school or program.
Browse past annual reports
Each annual report conveys the RCU’s major accomplishments during the previous fiscal year. Also included are key statistics and metrics that help paint the picture of the RCU’s activities, outreach, and budget.
Listen to Mississippi Ed Talk
Mississippi Ed Talk, a podcast produced in-house by the RCU, takes a deep dive into the innovative practices underway in Mississippi’s public schools and districts. Monthly episodes feature conversations with K-12 administrators, teachers, and key stakeholders to gain insight into promising practices and understand how they came about.
Browse our collection of research briefs
The RCU’s research brief series spotlights the results of the RCU’s research and evaluation projects. Each brief condenses the results of a study or report into an easy-to-read format that uses infographics and lists to convey findings and communicate key takeaways. The goal of the briefs is to reach educators, leaders, and the public with useful information and strategies that are based on rigorous research.
