Culinary arts students from Sumrall and Purvis gained invaluable hands-on experience during the Downtown Hattiesburg Association’s annual awards luncheon and meeting when they assisted Flathau’s Fine Foods with setup, service and cleanup last academic year. The students, who attended Sumrall High School’s  (Lamar County School District) culinary arts program under the instruction of Tricia Griffin, saw firsthand what it is like to work a catered event when the banquet was held in the spring semester.
