IC3 Resources

The Internet and Computing Core Certification is a digital literacy exam that covers basic computing, internet knowledge, and skills for national credentials. Successful completion of IC³ demonstrates that you have the knowledge and skills required for basic use of computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet.

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has adopted this certification as a requirement in several licensure-endorsement areas. Please visit MDE to verify whether IC³ is required or optional for your specific licensure requirement.

The IC³ exam is provided by Certiport and available in two versions of Microsoft: Global Standard 4 (Windows 7, Office 2010 or 2013) and Global Standard 5 (Windows 8.1 and Office 2013). Each version is comprised of three timed modules.

Please visit Certiport for more information and a description of the three module exams.

The registration process includes selecting a testing center, purchasing vouchers, and scheduling the exam. How to purchase the voucher depends on the testing location. Follow these steps to begin the registration process:

  1. Using the map or testing center button below, determine which Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC) is closest to your location.
  2. If you choose to test with the Research and Curriculum Unit (RCU) here at Mississippi State University, visit rcu.gosignmeup.com to purchase vouchers and schedule an exam date.
  3. If you choose to test with any other CATC, visit certiport.com to purchase the vouchers, then contact the CATC representative to schedule an exam date. (Note: The RCU has no affiliation with any other testing center.)
