Mississippi CTE Compliance Audit Cycle

Pulse CMI Audit Cycle Diagram Flow Chart
The PULSE Compliance Monitoring process is a six-step cycle built on collaboration between Mississippi school districts, MDE, and RCU staff. Districts begin by scheduling their on-site audit with MDE and uploading supporting evidence into Pulse for an initial desk review. Before any site visit, MDE Program Supervisors provide direct technical assistance to help instructors organize and strengthen their documentation. RCU staff then review all uploaded evidence and offer feedback so districts can address any gaps ahead of time.

When the on-site audit takes place, MDE staff visit schools to evaluate facilities, equipment, and finances, along with any items flagged during the desk review. If findings result, MDE staff assign a Corrective Action Plan directly through the Pulse system. From there, MDE staff work alongside districts to resolve CAP findings, close out the audit, and prepare for future cycles.

Throughout the entire school year, MDE and RCU staff provide ongoing feedback and support to help districts stay on track with compliance requirements. This process is designed not just as an audit, but as a partnership to help every district succeed.
