Alison Reed joined the Research and Curriculum Unit (RCU) in April 2025 as a project manager. In this role, she supports the Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of Special Education by collaborating with administrators and educators across the state to enhance special education services.
Before joining the RCU, Reed dedicated 28 years to the field of special education, with 20 of those years spent serving in the West Point Consolidated School District. Her outstanding commitment to teaching was recognized in both 2013 and 2024, when she was named Church Hill Elementary Teacher of the Year.
Reed holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Special Education from Mississippi State University.
