Mississippi Classroom to Career Network Resources
Equipping students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in college, careers, and life in Mississippi begins with helping them discover their interests, explore career opportunities, and understand the pathways available to achieve their goals. The Mississippi Career Pathways Flyers were developed as a practical resource to support educators, students, and families as they engage in career exploration and Individual Success Planning (ISP).
This resource is grounded in the Mississippi Department of Education's (MDE) Classroom to Career initiative and the Mississippi K–12 Workforce Development Model, which emphasize creating meaningful connections between learning and future opportunities. Through these efforts, Mississippi is committed to ensuring that every student develops the knowledge, skills, experiences, and plans needed to successfully transition from the classroom to postsecondary education, workforce training, military service, and high-demand careers.
Mississippi utilizes Advance CTE's 14 National Career Clusters® Framework as the foundation for career exploration, planning, and preparation. Within these 14 Career Clusters, Mississippi offers 48 Career Pathways that provide students with opportunities to explore careers aligned to their interests, strengths, and future goals and Mississippi’s workforce and training opportunities.

Together, these flyers serve as a starting point for meaningful conversations about career exploration, academic planning, and workforce readiness. They are designed to help students make informed decisions about their future while supporting educators and families in guiding those decisions.
In addition to the Career Pathways Flyers, Mississippi has developed a Career Pathway Individual Success Planning (ISP) Roadmap to further support secondary program-of-study planning. This companion resource helps educators, students, and families align course selections, career interests, postsecondary goals, and workforce opportunities into a personalized plan that supports each student's chosen career pathway.
By using these resources alongside the Mississippi K–12 Workforce Development Model, schools can create more intentional connections between education and employment, ensuring that every student is prepared for success.
Students develop foundational and advanced skills in automated manufacturing, including safety, hand and power tools, fabrication, welding, precision measurement, circuits and electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics, PLCs, robotics, and additive and subtractive manufacturing systems.
Students explore the history, fundamentals, and design processes of engineering, including 3-D sketching, CAD modeling, robotics, and various engineering specializations. The curriculum provides a comprehensive study of electrical, fluid, mechanical, and thermal systems, flexible manufacturing, and workforce readiness skills to prepare students for careers in engineering
Students develop skills in safety, tool use, measurement, and furniture frame construction, advancing into upholstery techniques including padding, hardware, support systems, fabric cutting and layout, sewing, and finishing procedures.

The aquaculture program is designed to introduce basic concepts used in aquaculture farm production and maintenance.
Diversified Agriculture is a broad, multi-course pathway that introduces students to the full scope of the agriculture industry before letting them specialize. Students begin with Principles of Agriscience as a foundational course, then move into a set of core courses covering agribusiness, animal science, environmental science, mechanization, and plant science. From there, students can pursue elective coursework in areas like agricultural communications, agricultural leadership, food science, poultry science, precision agriculture, turfgrass management, and veterinary science. The pathway concludes with a Capstone course centered on work-based learning with a global agriculture focus.
Overall, the pathway blends hands-on, technology-enriched instruction with business, science, and math applications, preparing students for a wide range of entry-level agricultural careers or further education in the field.

Multimedia is a pathway that introduces students to the full scope of multimedia production, from foundational design and digital citizenship principles to hands-on content creation across photo, video, and audio platforms. Students begin with the Multimedia Core, then branch into specialized courses including Broadcast Foundations, Advanced Broadcast and Production, Digital Design, Digital Video Production, Digital Audio Production, and Sports Journalism and Broadcasting. Digital Design and Digital Video Production now each have advanced follow-on courses, allowing students to build deeper technical skill in those areas after completing the foundational course.
Across the pathway, students develop practical skills in scriptwriting, camera and studio operation, editing, sound design, branding, and digital storytelling, while also building professional portfolios. Emphasis throughout is placed on safety, legal compliance, workplace ethics, and career readiness, preparing students for a range of roles in broadcasting, design, and media production.
This program builds foundational drafting and CAD skills alongside safety and leadership development, advancing into architectural drafting including floor plans, elevations, foundations, and sections.
